Deidre was born and raised in Northern Ontario but was drawn to the ocean and lush rainforests of the West Coast where she has enjoyed living for the past 20 years on the southern gulf islands and in Victoria.  She started out in Chinese Medicine studying Jin Shin Do Acupressure at the Canadian College of Acupressure in 2000.  This sparked an interest and passion for Chinese Medicine and she went on to study at The Academy of Classical Sciences in Nelson BC, and received her Diploma of Acupuncture from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria in 2008.  After graduation she volunteered with Tibetan refugees in northern India and apprenticed with Tibetan Acupuncturists while there.

Deidre has an ongoing practice of Medical Qi Gong. She participates in life-long training with Master Zhongxian Wu, and also studies a more subtle and internal style of Medical Qi Gong with Dr. Steven Aung. She also has trained in Cranial Sacral techniques.  She draws upon all these modalities, as necessary, in her treatments, and is committed to treating clients holistically and comprehensively on physical, emotional and spiritual levels.

The last few years of her practice have been greatly influenced by her attendance of workshops led by Dr. Gabor Mate’ on trauma and the roots of chronic illness and addiction.  She is also a herbalist, drawing upon plant medicine and wisdom as needed.  Deidre is dedicated to each client, seeing each as individuals and honing each treatment to best suit their health and wellness needs.

She is nourished and spiritually re-charged by her connection to nature and loves hikes and daily ocean time.
